Doha

An invitation to present a series of hands-on active-learning sessions for undergraduates in engineering in Doha, Qatar was the occasion for my visit t in the fall of 2016. Although my personal time was limited and, I felt, monitored, the view from my hotel window offered nighttime and sunrise views of the urban landscape. In particular, I was fascinated by the Wogod Tower, an office building and headquarters of the Wogod oil company. Festooned with bright moving lights at the top, It thrusts itself into the sky proclaiming sovereignty for all to appreciate.
